My company start to deal business with the supplier and they required me to provide VAT certificate. Please advise what that document is? and how can we get it as soon as possible due to they need it urgently.
Panwa: Please note that for register VAT, it must be registered when your company fall under one of these conditions:
- When your company generate total income of Baht 1.8 million a year.
- Your business deal with Thai Government.
- Your customer or supplier requires you to register.
- You need to apply for working permit and visa
If not fall under the conditions above, there is no need to register VAT. Moreover, for your case, it falls under item 3 as above thus, your company need to register for VAT which we can assist for register at the Revenue Department (RD). Kindly note that after register VAT, the tax officer will issue the temporary VAT forms (Phor.Por.01 & 01.1) first and the VAT certificate (Phor.Por.20), the tax officer will issue and send it by post to your company address directly within 1-3 months. However, while your company is waiting for the VAT certificate (Phor.Por.20), you can provide copy of Phor.Por.01 & 01.1 to the supplier instead.
