My company is registered with all Thai nationals and we applied for the Money exchange license last year and run our business for money exchange. Anyway, within this year we plan to add one foreign shareholder in the company, is it possible? Is there anything I need to consider before we add the foreign shareholder?
Panwa: Yes, it is possible moreover, please note that if your company will add a foreign shareholder and still do the money exchange business, you must comply with the rule of bank of Thailand as following conditions for case of having foreign director and/or shareholder:
- The capital has to increase at least Baht 10 million with fully paid.
- The company must also have the business of either Tourism or Hotel and must obtain the TAT license first before you can add the foreign shareholder in the company for money exchange.
After your company completes for the requirements above, you can add the foreign shareholder in the company for the money exchange business and inform the Bank of Thailand.
