My company would like to apply for money exchange license which the registered capital is baht 1 million. I would like to inquire if my company need to present the bank statements follow the capital amount that registered with DBD to Bank of Thailand or not?
Panwa: Please note that previously, the company does not require to present the bank statements of the registered capital in order to apply money exchange license. However, currently the Bank of Thailand issued the new regulations of principals, procedures, including conditions for submitting the application for additional license consideration, which the company who will apply for money exchange license/ authorized money changer must prepare the financial documents classified into 2 cases:
Case 1: If the new registered company, must provide a bank certificate under the company account showing the amount at least Baht 1 million.
Case 2: If the company already operated business and was registered for more than 1 year, must provide the company’s financial statements of the latest year that was submitted to the DBD to the Bank of Thailand.
