- Documents from landlord or house owner such as permission letter, lease agreement, etc. (in case of registered VAT)
Things must know for register company’s branch office
- The company can prepare the document forms for register the branch office and submit to the Department of Business Development follow the company’s head office’s location directly without arranging the shareholders’ meeting.
- In case the company register for VAT, must also register the company’s branch office at the area Revenue Department where the company’s head office is located within 15 days after registration of adding branch office at DBD.

Q1: I have incorporated the company in Bangkok with Vat registration last year and my business is doing well. For now, I would like to expand my business in some area. If in case I would like to add 1 branch office in Chonburi, do I need to register that branch at the government and do I need to register Vat under that branch again?Panwa: If you would like to add 1 branch office in Chonburi, your company need to register for adding branch office at Department of Business Development (DBD) in Bangkok first and after, register for adding branch office at the area Revenue Department (RD) follow the head office’s location which for the new branch office, it will automatically fall under the VAT system. Moreover, both steps can register in Bangkok and for step of adding branch office at RD, the registration must be done at least 15 days before opening of the new branch office. |
Q2: My company in Bangkok do the business of trading jewelry. At the present, I would like to set-up a branch office in Khon Kaen, however this branch office will trade different products, is it possible? Please advise.Panwa: If you will set-up a branch office, your company need to do the business follow the registered head office only. Moreover, if in case you would like to trade a different product, you need to register for add objectives under head office and register branch office in one time. |
Q3: My company registered a head office in Phuket and registered branch office in Bangkok. And now, we would like to convert the branch office into a head office and the head office into a branch office as most of the business activities take place in Bangkok. Please let me know if it is possible.A: Yes, it is possible to convert the branch office to be a head office which your company needs to advertise in local newspaper, send the invitation letters to all shareholders and arrange the shareholders’ meeting for change of the company’s head office as this process for change of head office is considered as change of company’s address. After the shareholders have approved for this change at the meeting, you can prepare the documents and can convert the head office and branch office information directly on the forms. Moreover, you need to submit the forms for this change to the DBD in Phuket province only. |
